     Mary Douglas was born in 1796.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. William Douglas and Catherine Johnstone.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles William Maxwell on 5 April 1821.¹ She died on 9 January 1823.¹

     Admiral John Erskine Douglas was born on 29 October 1757.¹ He was the son of David Douglas and unknown daughter Thompson.¹ He married Catherine Anne Griffith, daughter of John Griffith, in 1818.¹ He died on 25 July 1847 at age 89.¹
