Sir Archibald Sinclair was the son of Sir Robert Sinclair of Longformacus, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Douglas.1 He married Elizabeth Cockburn, daughter of Patrick Cockburn.2 He died circa 17 August 1719.2 He was buried on 20 August 1719 at Holyrood, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wick [Scotland] between 1690 and 1696.2 He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1695.2 He was appointed Knight circa 1697.2 He held the office of Judge of the Admiralty.2
