     He was created 1st Baronet Pilkington, of Stanley, near Wakefield and Nether Bradley, also co. Yorks [Nova Scotia] on 29 June 1635.1

     Sir Lyon Pilkington, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 14 November 1613. He was the son of Sir Arthur Pilkington, 1st Bt. and Ellen Lyon.2 He married, firstly, unknown daughter Newton, daughter of Sir Thomas Newton, on 31 December 1639.1 He married, secondly, Phoebe Moyle, daughter of Captain Robert Moyle, on 15 August 1650.1 He died circa 2 November 1684.1 He was buried on 5 November 1684.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Pilkington, of Stanley, near Wakefield and Nether Bradley, also co. Yorks [N.S., 1635] circa 2 September 1650.1
