     William Ramsden was the son of John Ramsden.2 He married, firstly, Rosamund Pilkington, daughter of Thomas Pilkington and Barbara Reresby, on 29 April 1589.1 He married, secondly, Mary (?) after 29 April 1589.1 He died on 7 June 1623, having by her had no issue and by his 1st wife an eldest surviving son:.1
     In 1612 he recorded his pedigree at Visitation of York.1 He lived at Longley Hall, Yorkshire, England.1
