     Sophia Brown was the daughter of Jeremiah Brown. She married, firstly, James Cranstoun, 6th Lord Cranstoun, son of William Cranstoun, 5th Lord Cranstoun and Lady Jean Kerr, before 1749. She married, secondly, Michael Lade on 10 November 1773.1 She died on 26 October 1779.1
     From before 1749, her married name became Cranstoun. From 10 November 1773, her married name became Lade.1
