     William Coats was born on 9 August 1812.¹ He was the son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell.²

     Andrew Coats was born on 22 June 1814.¹ He was the son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell.² He married Agnes Hamilton Stirling, daughter of James Stirling of Dalquhurn and Cordale, on 1 June 1854.¹ He died on 10 February 1900 at age 85.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Pitcullen House, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Agnes Hamilton Stirling was the daughter of James Stirling of Dalquhurn and Cordale.² She married Andrew Coats, son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell, on 1 June 1854.¹ She died in 1906.¹
     From 1 June 1854, her married name became Coats.

     Reverend John Bampton was born in 1817 at Islington, London, England.² He was the son of John Bampton and Mary Moss.² He married Charlotte Cobbold, daughter of John Cobbold and Harriet Chevallier, on 2 February 1852 at St. Clement’s Church, Ipswich, Suffolk, England.^1,2 He died on 19 May 1888 at 42 Marine Parade, Dover, Kent, England.²

     Daniel McKenzie gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 74th Regiment.¹ He lived at Sandbanke, Holy Loch, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Gloranna McKenzie was the daughter of Daniel McKenzie.² She married Sir Peter Coats, son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell, on 5 November 1832.¹ She died on 21 April 1877.¹
     From 5 November 1832, her married name became Coats.

     Sir James Coats, 1st Bt. was born on 12 April 1834.¹ He was the son of Sir Peter Coats and Gloranna McKenzie.² He married, firstly, Sarah Ann Auchincloss, daughter of John Auchincloss, on 15 October 1857.¹ He married, secondly, Marie Jeanne Augustine Adam, daughter of Charles Henri Adam, on 19 September 1889.¹ He died on 20 January 1913 at age 78.¹
     He was a senior director of J. & P. Coats.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Battalion, Renfrewshire Rifles (Volunteers.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Coats, of Auchendrane, Ayrshire [U.K.] on 7 December 1905.¹

     Thomas Peter Murray is the son of R. Stuart Murray.¹ He married Doreen Margaret Helen Chichester, daughter of Major Spencer Frederick Chichester and Helen Elizabeth Coats, on 29 April 1920.¹ He and Doreen Margaret Helen Chichester were divorced in 1925.¹
