Sir Gilbert Elliot of Headshaw, 1st Bt.1 
He was created 1st Baronet Elliot, of Headshaw [Nova Scotia] on 19 April 1700.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1702 and 1707.2 He was styled as Lord Minto [Scottish Law Lord] in 1705.2 He held the office of Lord of Session in 1705.2

Sir John Elphinstone, 4th Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [N.S., 1701] in April 1739.1 On his death, the baronetcy became dormant until 1927.1

He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was chairman of the London North Western Railway between 1921 and 1923.1 He was chairman of the London Midland and Scottish Railway between 1923 and 1924.1 He was created 1st Baron Lawrence of Kingsgate, of Holland House, Kingsgate, co. Kent [U.K.] on 23 July 1923.1 He was chairman of the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company.1 He was chairman of the Antofagasta and Bolivia Railway.1 He was chairman of the Royal Commission on Insurance Acts between 1925 and 1926.2 On his death, his title became extinct.1
