     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire in 1907.2

     Frances Annesley Lonsdale is the daughter of Frederick Lonsdale.1 She married John George Stuart Donaldson, Baron Donaldson of Kingsbridge, son of Reverend Stuart Alexander Donaldson and Lady Albinia Frederica Hobart-Hampden, on 20 February 1935.1
     From 20 February 1935, her married name became Donaldson.1 After her marriage, Frances Annesley Lonsdale was styled as Baroness Donaldson of Kingsbridge on 20 November 1967.
