     Jane Bamfeild was born in 1580. She was the daughter of John Bamfield and Elizabeth Drake. She married Sir Francis Drake, 1st Bt., son of Thomas Drake and Elizabeth Hillen, on 22 September 1602.1 She died on 26 February 1612/13 at Buckland MonachorumG.
     From 22 September 1602, her married name became Drake.

     Sir Francis Drake, 1st Bt. was the son of Thomas Drake and Elizabeth Hillen.1,2 He married, firstly, Jane Bamfeild, daughter of John Bamfield and Elizabeth Drake, on 22 September 1602.2 A settlement for the marriage between him and Joan Strode was made on 17 January 1627.2 He died on 11 March 1637.2
     He was created 1st Baronet Drake, of Buckland Monachorum, co. Devon [England] on 2 August 1622.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon.2

     Dorothy Bamfeild was born in 1645.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Bamfylde, 1st Bt. and Gertrude Coplestone.1 A settlement for the marriage between her and Sir Francis Drake, 3rd Bt. was made on 30 August 1673.2 She died on 30 January 1678/79 at Buckland MonachorumG.1
     She was also known as Dorothy Bampfylde.2 From 30 August 1673, her married name became Drake.2
