     James Roosevelt Roosevelt is the son of James Roosevelt.¹ He married Helen Schermerhorn Astor, daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, in 1878.¹

     James Roosevelt was born on 16 July 1828.¹ He was the son of Isaac Roosevelt and Mary Rebecca Aspinwall. He married, secondly, Sara Delano, daughter of Warren Delano, Jr. and Catherine Robbins Lyman, on 7 October 1880 at Algonac, Balmville, Orange County, New York, U.S.A.^G. He died in 1900.

     Charlotte Augusta Astor was born on 29 March 1858 at Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn.¹ She married, firstly, James Coleman Drayton before 1891.¹ She and James Coleman Drayton were divorced circa 1891.¹ She married, secondly, George Ogilvy Haig, son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch, on 17 December 1896.³ She died on 30 July 1920 at age 62 at Paris, France.³
     From before 1891, her married name became Drayton.¹ From 17 December 1896, her married name became Haig.³
     She had four children by her first husband.¹

     James Coleman Drayton was born on 4 June 1852 at Phialdelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.² He married Charlotte Augusta Astor, daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, before 1891.¹ He and Charlotte Augusta Astor were divorced circa 1891.¹ He died on 11 November 1934 at age 82 at Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island, U.S.A.²
     He lived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Caroline Schermerhorn Astor was born in 1861.¹ She was the daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn.¹ She married Marshall Orme Wilson, son of Richard Thornton Wilson and Melissa Johnston, in 1884.¹ She died in 1948.¹
     From 1884, her married name became Wilson.¹

     Marshall Orme Wilson was the son of Richard Thornton Wilson and Melissa Johnston.^1,2 He married Caroline Schermerhorn Astor, daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, in 1884.¹
