     William Backhouse Astor was born on 19 September 1792.¹ He was the son of John Jacob Astor and Sarah Todd.¹ He married Margaret Rebecca Armstrong, daughter of John Long Armstrong, Jr., in 1818.¹ He died on 24 November 1875 at age 83.¹
     He was educated at Columbia University, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated at Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ He was educated at Göttingen University, Göttingen, Germany^G.¹ William Backhouse Astor also went by the nick-name of ‘The Landord of New York’.¹

     Margaret Rebecca Armstrong is the daughter of John Long Armstrong, Jr.¹ She married William Backhouse Astor, son of John Jacob Astor and Sarah Todd, in 1818.¹
     From 1818, her married name became Astor.¹

     Charles Watkin Neville Cholmondeley was born on 27 May 1826.¹ He was the son of Thomas Cholmondeley, 1st Baron Delamere of Vale Royal and Henrietta Elizabeth Williams-Wynn.¹ He died on 18 March 1844 at age 17.¹
