     Reverend William Newman was the Rector at Ringrone, Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Emily Martha Newman was the daughter of Reverend William Newman.² She married William Henry Haig, son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch, on 6 June 1871.¹ She died on 17 March 1929.¹
     From 6 June 1871, her married name became Haig.¹

     Hugh Veitch Haig is the son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch.² He married Archie Anne Lindsay Fraser, daughter of William Nathaniel Fraser and Philadelphia Lambe Veitch.³

     John Alicius Haig was born on 5 April 1857.¹ He was the son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch.² He married Jessie Marion Purbrook, daughter of Henry James Purbrook, on 29 November 1890.¹ He died on 6 July 1933 at age 76.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Henry James Purbrook lived at Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Jessie Marion Purbrook was the daughter of Henry James Purbrook.² She married, firstly, Sir Edmund Waller, 5th Bt., son of Sir Edmund Waller, 4th Bt. and Rebecca Guinness, on 2 September 1878.¹ She married, secondly, John Alicius Haig, son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch, on 29 November 1890.¹ She died in March 1926.¹
     From before 1890, her married name became Waller.¹ From 29 November 1890, her married name became Haig.¹

     George Ogilvy Haig was born on 26 July 1859.¹ He was the son of John Haig and Rachel Mackerras Veitch.² He married Charlotte Augusta Astor, daughter of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, on 17 December 1896.¹ He died on 24 December 1905 at age 46, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹

     James Douglas Howard-Johnston was born on 12 March 1942.¹ He is the son of Rear-Admiral Clarence Dinsmore Howard-Johnston and Lady Alexandra Henrietta Louisa Haig.¹ He married Angela Maureen Huth, daughter of Harold Huth, on 24 June 1978.¹
