He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grandier Guards.2 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Warrender, of Lochend, co. Haddington [G.B., 1715] on 8 January 1917.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He was awarded the Order of the Star of Romania.3 He was awarded the Order of St. Anne of Russia with swords.3 He was awarded the Order of St. Stanislaus of Russia 3rd class.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Grantham between 1923 and 1942.2 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1924 and 1928, to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of South India.3 He held the office of Lord Commissioner of the Treasury in 1931.3 He held the office of Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1932 and 1935.3 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household in 1935.3 He held the office of Parliamentary and Finance Secretary of the Admiralty in 1935.3 He held the office of Finance Secretary of the War Office between 1935 and 1940.3 He held the office of Finance Member of the Army Council between 1935 and 1940.3 He held the office of Parliamentary and Finance Secretary of the Admiralty between 1940 and 1942.3 He held the office of Parliamentary Secretary of the Admiralty between 1942 and 1945.3 He was created 1st Baron Bruntisfield, of Boroughmuir, in the City of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 9 March 1942.1

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Second World in the in the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons.)3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1943.3 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Madras between 1946 and 1948.3 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the North Somerset Yeomanry, 44th Royal Tank Regiment (Territorial Army) between 1957 and 1962.3 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1963.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Somerset in 1965.3 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1967.3 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.3 He was chairman of Thistle Industrial Holdings in 1973.3 He was Brigadier of the Royal Company of Archers between 1973 and 1985.3 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Warrender on 14 January 1993. He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Bruntisfield, of Boroughmuir, in the City of Edinburgh [U.K., 1942] on 14 January 1993.1 He lived in 2003 at 18 Warriston Crescent, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3
