     Brigadier George Lewis Holdsworth was born on 4 September 1862.² He married, secondly, Alice Laura Jones, daughter of Colin Stanhope Jones, on 19 February 1907.¹ He died on 21 August 1942 at age 79.¹
     He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the 7th Hussars.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Sybil Mary Verschoyle was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry William Verschoyle.¹ She married Sir Charles Garden Assheton-Smith, 1st Bt., son of Robert George Duff and Mary Astley, on 4 September 1902.¹ She died on 27 October 1943.¹
     From 4 September 1902, her married name became Duff. From 1905, her married name became Assheton-Smith.¹

     Sir Richard Assheton was the son of Richard Assheton and Elizabeth Davenport.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Byron, daughter of Sir John Byron.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Holt, daughter of Robert Holt, before 1593.¹ He died on 27 December 1617.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 17 January 1617/18.¹
     He held the office of Sheriff of Lancashire in 1586.¹ He lived at Middleton, Lancashire, England.¹ His last will was dated 28 October 1617.¹ He also had several daughters by his first wife.¹

     Mary Byron was the daughter of Sir John Byron.¹ She married Sir Richard Assheton, son of Richard Assheton and Elizabeth Davenport.¹ She died circa 9 January 1591/92.¹ She was buried on 12 January 1591/92.¹
     Her married name became Assheton.¹

     Mary Holt is the daughter of Robert Holt.¹ She married Sir Richard Assheton, son of Richard Assheton and Elizabeth Davenport, before 1593.¹
     From before 1593, her married name became Assheton.¹

     Ralph Assheton was born on 5 January 1595.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Assheton and Mary Holt.¹ He married Catherine Brereton, daughter of William Brereton, on 10 August 1621.¹ He died after 1643.¹
     He lived at Elmley, Yorkshire, England.¹ He lived at Kirkby Grange, Yorkshire, England.¹ He had five older sons, three younger sons and four daughters.¹

     Richard Assheton was the son of Richard Assheton and Anne Gerrard.^1,2 A contract for the marriage of Richard Assheton and Elizabeth Davenport was signed on 12 February 1550/51.¹ He died circa 16 July 1563.¹ He was buried on 19 July 1563.¹
     He lived at Middleton, Lancashire, England.²

     Richard Assheton was the son of Sir Richard Assheton and Anne Strickland.^1,2 He married, secondly, Katherine Bellingham, daughter of Sir Robert Bellingham.² He married, firstly, Anne Gerrard, daughter of Sir Thomas Gerrard, in 1521/22.² He died on 4 August 1550.¹
     He lived at Middleton, Lancashire, England.² He also had three daughters by his second wife.²
