She held the office of Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother between 1959 and 1981.² She was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1976.¹ She held the office of Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother between 1981 and 1993.² She was appointed Dame Commander, Royal Victorian Order (D.C.V.O.) in 1989.¹ She held the office of Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother between 1993 and 2000.²

     William Legge, Viscount Lewisham was born on 23 January 1913.¹ He was the son of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington.¹ He died on 25 October 1942 at age 29 at El Alamein, Egypt^G, killed in action.^1,2
     He was styled as Viscount Lewisham. He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Staffordshire Yeomanry.¹ He fought in the Battle of El Alamein.¹

     Lady Mary Cecilia Legge was born on 27 October 1906.¹ She was the daughter of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington.¹ She married Commander Noel Charles Mansfeldt Findlay, son of Sir Mansfeldt de Cardonnel Findlay and Cora Sybil Alexander, on 17 October 1929.¹ She died on 31 March 2003 at age 96 at Ickham^G.^1,2
     Lady Mary Cecilia Legge also went by the nick-name of Peggy.¹ Her married name became Findlay.

     Lady Barbara Legge was born on 24 June 1916.¹ She was the daughter of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington.¹ She married Adam Witold Kwiatkowski, son of Witold Jan Kwiatkowski and Helena Kedzierska, on 4 February 1945.¹ She died on 4 October 2013 at age 97.²
     She was with the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry during the Second World War.¹ Her married name became Kwiatkowska. She lived in 2003 at The Bothy, Patshull Park, Burnhill Green, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England^G.¹

     Commander Noel Charles Mansfeldt Findlay was born in 1899.² He was the son of Sir Mansfeldt de Cardonnel Findlay and Cora Sybil Alexander.^1,3 He married Lady Mary Cecilia Legge, daughter of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington, on 17 October 1929.¹ He died on 9 April 1976.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     Sir Mansfeldt de Cardonnel Findlay was born on 7 April 1861.² He married Cora Sybil Alexander, daughter of Captain J. H. Alexander.² He died on 31 December 1932 at age 71.²
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.² He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1885 and 1923.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1904.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1908.¹ He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Bulgaria between 1909 and 1911.² He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Norway between 1911 and 1923.² He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1916.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1924.¹

     Arthur Francis Basset was born in 1873 at London, England.² He was the son of Gustavus Lambart Basset and Charlotte Mary Elmhirst.² He married Rebecca Harriet Buller Salusbury-Trelawny, daughter of Sir William Lewis Salusbury-Trelawny, 10th Bt. and Harriett Buller Kitson, on 5 January 1898 at Truro, Cornwall, England.² He died on 30 May 1950.³
     He lived at 7 Carlos Place, London, England^G.¹

     Adam Witold Kwiatkowski was the son of Witold Jan Kwiatkowski and Helena Kedzierska.¹ He married Lady Barbara Legge, daughter of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington, on 4 February 1945.¹ He died on 27 November 2004.²
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Polish Army.¹

     Witold Jan Kwiatkowski was a Judge at Crakow, Poland^G.¹
