     Sir Noel Hughes Havelock Charles, 3rd Bt. was born on 20 November 1891.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Richard Havelock Charles, 1st Bt. and Gertrude Seton Gordon.¹ He married, firstly, Grace Edith Bevir, daughter of Joseph Louis Bevir, on 18 November 1916.¹ He married, secondly, Gipsy Joan Lawrence, daughter of Sir Walter Lawrence, on 6 November 1957.¹ He died on 8 September 1975 at age 83.²
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in dispatches twice.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was with HM Diplomatic Service in 1919.¹ He lived at The Abbey Grange, Watham Abbey, Essex, England.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Charles, of Waltham Abbey, co. Essex [U.K., 1928] on 26 August 1936.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1937.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1941.¹ He held the office of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brazil between 1941 and 1944.¹ He held the office of High Commissioner to Italy between 1944 and 1947.¹ He held the office of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkey between 1949 and 1951.¹ He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1968 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.²

     Grace Edith Bevir was the daughter of Joseph Louis Bevir.¹ She married Sir Noel Hughes Havelock Charles, 3rd Bt., son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Richard Havelock Charles, 1st Bt. and Gertrude Seton Gordon, on 18 November 1916.¹ She died on 26 May 1955.¹
     From 18 November 1916, her married name became Charles.¹

     Joseph Louis Bevir lived at Mickleton House, Mickleton, Gloucestershire, England.¹

     Gipsy Joan Lawrence is the daughter of Sir Walter Lawrence.¹ She married Sir Noel Hughes Havelock Charles, 3rd Bt., son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Richard Havelock Charles, 1st Bt. and Gertrude Seton Gordon, on 6 November 1957.¹
     From 6 November 1957, her married name became Charles.¹

     Peter Lambert married Dawn Monica Ann Janson, daughter of Guy Janson.¹ He died in October 2020.¹
