     Sir Thomas Frankland Lewis, 1st Bt. was born on 14 May 1780.1 He was the son of John Lewis and Anne Frankland.1 He married, firstly, Harriet Cornewall, daughter of Sir George Cornewall, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Cornewall, on 12 January 1805.1 He married, secondly, Mary Anne Ashton, daughter of John Ashton, on 15 October 1839.1 He died on 22 January 1855 at age 74.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Radnorshire between 1804 and 1805.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Beaumaris between 1812 and 1826.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis between 1826 and 1828.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Radnorshire between 1828 and 1834.1 He was created  1st Baronet Lewis [U.K.] on 11 July 1846.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for New Radnor Boroughs between 1847 and 1855.1
