Rear Admiral Sir Robert Barrie1 
Rear Admiral Sir Robert Barrie was born on 5 May 1774 at St. Augustine, Florida, U.S.A.1 He was the son of Dr. Robert Barrie and Dorothy Gardner.1 He married Julia Wharton Ingilby, daughter of Sir John Ingilby, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Amcotts, on 24 October 1816.1 He died on 7 June 1841 at age 67 at Swarthdale, England.1
He was appointed Knight in 1834.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.) in 1834.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1837.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1840.1
