     Louisa Hamilton was born in 1686.^3,4 She was the daughter of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Elizabeth Cochrane.^1,5 She married James Balfour, 1st of Pilrig, son of James Balfour and Helen Smith, on 10 September 1704.⁶ She died in 1750.^3,4
     From 10 September 1704, her married name became Balfour.¹

     Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew was born on 7 August 1887.¹ He was the son of Charles Edward Pole-Carew and Ellen Henrietta Ayshford Sanford. He married Eileen Lorna O’Callaghan, daughter of Surgeon-Major George Henry Kenneth McDonald O’Callaghan, on 15 October 1915.¹ He died on 9 November 1969 at age 82.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Somerset Light Infantry.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd/4th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.¹ He was a mining engineer.¹

     Eileen Lorna O’Callaghan was the daughter of Surgeon-Major George Henry Kenneth McDonald O’Callaghan. She married Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew, son of Charles Edward Pole-Carew and Ellen Henrietta Ayshford Sanford, on 15 October 1915.¹ She died in 1989.¹
     From 15 October 1915, her married name became Pole-Carew.¹

     Surgeon-Major George Henry Kenneth McDonald O’Callaghan was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He gained the rank of Surgeon-Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.¹

     Charles Oliver Pole-Carew was born on 27 September 1923.¹ He was the son of Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew and Eileen Lorna O’Callaghan. He died on 19 June 2016 at age 92.²
     He was educated at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster, Dorset, England^G.¹ He served in the Royal Queen’s Regiment between 1941 and 1947.¹ He was with the Civil Staff of the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard between 1948 and 1988.¹ He lived at Flat B, 1 Royal Crescent, London, England.¹

     Christopher Gerald Pole-Carew was born on 17 May 1931.¹ He is the son of Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew and Eileen Lorna O’Callaghan. He married Gillian Elizabeth Burton, daughter of Clive Mence Burton, on 3 April 1954.¹
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy. He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire between 1979 and 1980.¹ He lived at Shute Barton, Shute, Devon, England.¹

     Gillian Elizabeth Burton is the daughter of Clive Mence Burton. She married Christopher Gerald Pole-Carew, son of Major Gerald Ayshford Pole-Carew and Eileen Lorna O’Callaghan, on 3 April 1954.¹
     From 3 April 1954, her married name became Pole-Carew.¹

     Clive Mence Burton lived at Sunland Addo, Cape Province, South Africa^G.

     Gerald Anthony Peregrin Pole-Carew was born on 2 September 1957.¹ He is the son of Christopher Gerald Pole-Carew and Gillian Elizabeth Burton. He married, firstly, Claudia A. Wolfers, daughter of David Wolfers, in 1984.¹ He married, secondly, Georgina Elizabeth Moir Harris, daughter of Charles John Rowland Harris, in 1992.²
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Coldstream Guards.¹ He lived at High Waterston Farm, Dorset, England.¹
