     Arthur Kindersley Blair was born in 1834 at Madras, India.² He was the son of Henry Martin Blair and Caroline Brooke.² He married Mary Caroline Michell, daughter of Reverend Richard Michell and Amelia Blair, on 18 January 1872 at St. Peters in the East, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He died on 4 October 1883 at Pitlochry, Scotland, in a shooting accident.²
     He gained the rank of officer in the 71st Highland Light Infantry.² He was land agent and business manager for the 3rd Duke of Sutherland.²

     Henry Martin Blair was born on 16 January 1799 at Marylebone, London, England.¹ He married Caroline Brooke on 11 September 1830 at Henbury, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He died on 16 October 1880 at age 81 at 11 Stanhope Place, Hyde Park, London, England.¹

     Caroline Brooke was born circa 1805 at Henbury, Gloucestershire, England.¹ She married Henry Martin Blair on 11 September 1830 at Henbury, Gloucestershire, England.¹ She died in 1866.¹
     From 11 September 1830, her married name became Blair.¹

     James Douglas, 3rd of Mains was the son of James Douglas, 2nd of Mains.¹ He married Catherine Maxwell, daughter of George Maxwell, 2nd of Newark.¹ He died after 1489.¹

     Frances P. Addison was born circa 1856 at London, England.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Greenstreet Addison and Frances Octavia Murray.¹

     William Douglas, 4th of Mains was the son of James Douglas, 3rd of Mains and Catherine Maxwell.¹ He married Elizabeth Houstoun, daughter of Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk and Elizabeth Sinclair.¹ He died after 1502.¹

     Elizabeth Houstoun is the daughter of Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk and Elizabeth Sinclair.¹ She married William Douglas, 4th of Mains, son of James Douglas, 3rd of Mains and Catherine Maxwell.¹
     Her married name became Douglas.¹

     Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk was born circa 1398 at Houston, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Sir Patrick Houstoun of that Ilk and Maria Colquhoun.¹ He married Elizabeth Sinclair.¹ He died in 1456.¹

     Elizabeth Sinclair married Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk, son of Sir Patrick Houstoun of that Ilk and Maria Colquhoun.¹
     Her married name became Houstoun.¹

     John Douglas, 5th of Mains was the son of William Douglas, 4th of Mains and Elizabeth Houstoun.¹ He married Margaret Kincaid.¹ He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden, Northumberland, England, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Flodden Field on 9 September 1513.¹
