     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and Italy.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1947 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Knight in 1980.1

     From 24 January 1912, her married name became Livingstone-Learmonth.
