     John Patrick Lionel Petre, 18th Baron Petre was born on 4 August 1942.¹ He is the son of Joseph William Lionel Petre, 17th Baron Petre and Marguerite Eileen Hamilton.² He married Marcia Gwendolyn Plumpton, daughter of Alfred Plumpton, on 16 September 1965.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He succeeded as the 18th Baron Petre, of Writtle, co. Essex [E., 1603] on 1 January 1989.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Essex in 1991.² He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Essex in 2002.² He lived in 2003 at Ingatestone Hall, Essex, England.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 2016.³

     Hon. Elizabeth Mary Lionel Margaret Petre was born posthumously on 13 December 1915.¹ She is the daughter of Lionel George Carroll Petre, 16th Baron Petre and Catherine Margaret Boscawen.¹ She married Robert Peter Healing, son of Lt.-Col. Robert Kingsbury Healing, on 27 May 1935.¹
     Her married name became Healing. She lived in 2003 at The Priory, Kennerton, Gloucestershire, England.¹

     Robert Peter Healing was the son of Lt.-Col. Robert Kingsbury Healing.² He married Hon. Elizabeth Mary Lionel Margaret Petre, daughter of Lionel George Carroll Petre, 16th Baron Petre and Catherine Margaret Boscawen, on 27 May 1935.² He died in 1991.²

     Lt.-Col. Robert Kingsbury Healing lived at Camberley, Surrey, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment.¹

     Hon. Barbara Louisa Mary Petre was born on 7 May 1889.¹ She was the daughter of Philip Benedict Joseph Petre, 15th Baron Petre and Julia Mary Cavendish-Taylor.¹ She married Robert Boyne Wallace Crothers, son of Wallace Crothers, on 29 April 1919.¹
     Her married name became Crothers.

     Robert Boyne Wallace Crothers was the son of Wallace Crothers.¹ He married Hon. Barbara Louisa Mary Petre, daughter of Philip Benedict Joseph Petre, 15th Baron Petre and Julia Mary Cavendish-Taylor, on 29 April 1919.¹ He died on 22 February 1969.¹

     Wallace Crothers died before 1963.
     He lived at Chew Magna, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Hon. Clare Stella Mary Petre was born on 24 February 1893.¹ She was the daughter of Philip Benedict Joseph Petre, 15th Baron Petre and Julia Mary Cavendish-Taylor.¹ She married Colonel Dennis Malcolm King, son of Edward J. King, on 20 October 1920.¹ She died on 15 January 1960 at age 66.¹
     Her married name became King.

     Colonel Dennis Malcolm King was the son of Edward J. King.¹ He married Hon. Clare Stella Mary Petre, daughter of Philip Benedict Joseph Petre, 15th Baron Petre and Julia Mary Cavendish-Taylor, on 20 October 1920.¹ He died on 12 August 1960.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the The King’s Regiment.¹ He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) and bar.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹
