Vernon Forbes Erskine Crum was born on 11 December 1918 at Calcutta, India.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Walter Erskine Crum.¹ He married Rosemary Dawson, daughter of Sir Douglas Frederick Rawdon Dawson and Aimée Evelyn Pirie, in 1948.¹ He died on 17 March 1971 at age 52 at Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, from a heart attack.^1,2
