     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Atholl Highlanders.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 60th Rifles.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944.¹ He was Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Staffordshire Regiment between 1964 and 1966.¹ He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.¹

     Rosalind Stedall is the daughter of Colonel Henry Sidney Oliver Pemberton Stedall and Catherine Trevor Williams.¹ She married Colonel Ralph Stewart Stewart-Wilson, 11th of Balnakeilly, son of Aubyn Harold Raymond Wilson and Muriel Athelstan Hood Stewart-Stevens, 10th of Balnakeilly, on 4 October 1949.¹
     From 4 October 1949, her married name became Stewart-Wilson.¹

     Colonel Henry Sidney Oliver Pemberton Stedall is the son of Bertram Stedall and Violet Marion Holmes. He married Catherine Trevor Williams, daughter of Edmund Trevor Lloyd Williams and Alice Le Poer Fullerton.
