     Major Francis Arthur Dorrien-Smith was born on 26 August 1921.^1,2 He was the son of Major Arthur Algernon Dorrien-Smith and Eleanor Salvin Bowlby.¹ He died on 20 June 1944 at age 22, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Richard Henry Crofton was born on 31 January 1818 at Ireland.² He was the son of Duke Crofton and Alicia Jones.¹ He married, firstly, Emily Catherine Ann Brown, daughter of William James Brown and Catherine Ann Atkins.² He married, secondly, Frances Mary Marsh, daughter of Arthur Cuthbert Marsh, on 22 June 1848.¹ He died on 23 March 1897 at age 79.¹
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.¹ He lived at Lakefield, County Leitrim, Ireland.¹ He lived at Powick, Worcestershire, England.¹

     Alicia Jones was the daughter of William Jones.¹ She married Duke Crofton, son of Duke Crofton, on 18 August 1808 at Ireland.¹ She died on 15 November 1866 at Ireland.¹
     From 18 August 1808, her married name became Crofton.¹

     William Jones held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Belleville, County Westmeath, Ireland.¹

     Frances Mary Marsh was born between 1819 and 1820.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Cuthbert Marsh.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Richard Henry Crofton, son of Duke Crofton and Alicia Jones, on 22 June 1848.¹ She died on 19 February 1906.¹
     From 22 June 1848, her married name became Crofton.¹

     James Caldwell married Elizabeth Stamford, daughter of Thomas Stamford.¹
     He held the office of Recorder of Newcastle-under-Lyme.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Newcastle.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Linley Wood, Staffordshire, England.¹

     Ruth Josephine Emily Evans was born between 1876 and 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Henry Lyne Evans.¹ She married, firstly, John Edgar Gordon.¹ She married, secondly, Brig.-Gen. Cyril Randell Crofton, son of Reverend William Arthur Crofton-Atkins and Charlotte Anne Rosalie Coles, on 11 July 1905.¹ She died on 4 August 1957.¹
     Her married name became Gordon.¹ From 11 July 1905, her married name became Crofton.¹

     Reverend William Arthur Crofton-Atkins was born on 2 December 1843.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Richard Henry Crofton and Emily Catherine Ann Brown.¹ He married Charlotte Anne Rosalie Coles, daughter of Reverend Edward Norman Coles and Charlotte Mary Waddell, on 14 June 1866.¹ He died on 17 January 1928 at age 84.¹
     He gained the rank of Ensign in the 2nd Foot Guards.¹ He lived at Combe Bank, Kent, England.¹ He lived at Highland’s Lodge, St. Leonard’s, Sussex, England.¹

     Charlotte Anne Rosalie Coles was the daughter of Reverend Edward Norman Coles and Charlotte Mary Waddell.¹ She married Reverend William Arthur Crofton-Atkins, son of Maj.-Gen. Richard Henry Crofton and Emily Catherine Ann Brown, on 14 June 1866.¹ She died on 5 December 1926.¹
     From 14 June 1866, her married name became Crofton-Atkins.¹

     Reverend Edward Norman Coles married Charlotte Mary Waddell.¹
     He lived at Pottesgrove, Bedfordshire, England.¹
