     He was educated at Granton-on-Spey Grammar School, Grantown on Spey, Morayshire, Scotland.³ He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in 1913 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He held the office of Mayor of Battersea between 1922 and 1923.³ He was a practising solicitor in 1924.³ He was Member of the London City Council between 1934 and 1946.³ He wrote the book Land Value Rating, published 1936.³ He was Public Works Loan Commissioner between 1936 and 1946.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Battersea between 1940 and 1946.³ He was appointed KStJ.³ He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Malta between 1946 and 1949.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1947.³ He was created 1st Baron Douglas of Barloch, of Maxfield in the County of Sussex [U.K.] on 18 April 1950.³ On his death, his title became extinct.⁴

     Hon. Frances Margaret Douglas was born on 22 May 1920.² She was the daughter of Francis Campbell Ross Douglas, 1st Baron Douglas of Barloch and Minnie Findlay Smith.^1,2 She married Dr. Kenneth Ulyatt, son of Walter Charles Ulyatt, on 22 January 1943.¹ She died circa 2008.³
     She was educated at St. Paul’s Girls’ School, London, England.² She graduated from London University, London, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)² She graduated from London University, London, England, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.S.)² From 22 January 1943, her married name became Ulyatt.¹

     Dr. Kenneth Ulyatt is the son of Walter Charles Ulyatt.² He married Hon. Frances Margaret Douglas, daughter of Francis Campbell Ross Douglas, 1st Baron Douglas of Barloch and Minnie Findlay Smith, on 22 January 1943.¹
     He graduated from London University, London, England, with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)² He graduated from London University, London, England, with a Master of Science (M.Sc.)²

     Mary Stella Miranda Ulyatt was born on 30 December 1958.¹ She is the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Ulyatt and Hon. Frances Margaret Douglas.¹
