     Mary Rose Smith Cuninghame was born on 12 August 1948.¹ She is the daughter of Major Robert Gordon Smith Cuninghame and Mary Virginia Mirrielees.¹

     Joan Johnston married Major Robert Gordon Smith Cuninghame, son of Robert Dick Smith Cuninghame and Doris Melles, on 27 September 1961.¹
     From 27 September 1961, her married name became Smith Cuninghame.¹

     John Smith Cuninghame was born on 27 January 1921.¹ He was the son of Robert Dick Smith Cuninghame and Doris Melles.¹ He died on 22 October 1943 at age 22 at Minturno, Italy, killed in action.²
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards.¹

     Evelyn Mary Smith Cuninghame was born on 30 May 1890.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Dick Smith Cuninghame and Eleanora Wauchope.¹ She died on 13 April 1966 at age 75, unmarried.¹

     Douglas Alexander Smith Cuninghame was born on 14 July 1865.¹ He was the son of William Cathcart Smith Cuninghame, 14th of Caprington and Maria Anstruther.¹ He died on 18 March 1942 at age 76.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1887 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1888 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1891 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Mary Anne Smith Cuninghame was born on 12 February 1850.¹ She was the daughter of William Cathcart Smith Cuninghame, 14th of Caprington and Maria Anstruther.¹ She married, firstly, James Alexander Tait on 16 May 1873.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Andrew Harry Spencer Smith-Neill, son of General unknown Smith-Neill, on 28 February 1884.¹ She died on 12 June 1912 at age 62.¹
     From 16 May 1873, her married name became Tait.¹ From 28 February 1884, her married name became Smith-Neill.¹

     James Alexander Tait married Mary Anne Smith Cuninghame, daughter of William Cathcart Smith Cuninghame, 14th of Caprington and Maria Anstruther, on 16 May 1873.¹ He died on 9 September 1879, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Dragoon Guards.¹

     Colonel Andrew Harry Spencer Smith-Neill was the son of General unknown Smith-Neill.¹ He married Mary Anne Smith Cuninghame, daughter of William Cathcart Smith Cuninghame, 14th of Caprington and Maria Anstruther, on 28 February 1884.¹ He died on 14 March 1887, shot by a fanatic trooper while at the head of his regiment.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 2nd Central Indian Horse.¹

     General unknown Smith-Neill lived at Swinbridge Muir, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹
