     Sir David Maxwell, 1st Bt. was the son of Major John Maxwell and unknown daughter Irving.¹ He married Henrietta Maxwell, daughter of David Maxwell of Cairnsmore, in 1770.¹ He died in 1825.¹
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Maxwell [U.K.].

     Mary Sprot was born in 1811.² She was the daughter of John Sprot and Mary Yule.² She married Sir William Maxwell, 3rd Bt., son of Sir David Maxwell, 2nd Bt. and Georgina Martin.¹ She died in 1846.²

     Henrietta Maxwell is the daughter of David Maxwell of Cairnsmore.¹ She married Sir David Maxwell, 1st Bt., son of Major John Maxwell and unknown daughter Irving, in 1770.¹

     William Irving of Bonshaw was born circa 1663.¹ He was the son of John Irving of Woodhouse and Sarah Douglas.¹ He married Hon. Ymilia Rollo, daughter of Andrew Rollo, 3rd Lord Rollo of Duncrub and Hon. Margaret Balfour, on 2 September 1698.¹ He died in 1742.¹

     Hon. Ymilia Rollo was born after 1670.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Rollo, 3rd Lord Rollo of Duncrub and Hon. Margaret Balfour.¹ She married William Irving of Bonshaw, son of John Irving of Woodhouse and Sarah Douglas, on 2 September 1698.¹ She died in 1747 at Bonshaw, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹
     From 2 September 1698, her married name became Irving.¹

     John Irving of Woodhouse is the son of William Irving of Woodhouse and Janet Jardine.¹ He married Sarah Douglas, daughter of Hon. Sir William Douglas and Agnes Fawside.¹
