Leonard Shafto Orde was born on 25 March 1769 at Weetwood Hall, Chatton, Northumberland, England.2 He was the son of John Orde and Rosamond Dagleish.2 He married, firstly, Penelope Oglivie on 1 November 1794 at St. James, Picadilly, London, England.2 He married, secondly, Lady Louisa Anne Jocelyn, daughter of Robert Jocelyn, 1st Earl of Roden and Lady Anne Hamilton, on 27 May 1800 at Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland.3,2 He married, thirdly, Harriet Bevan, daughter of Henry Bevan and Sarah Pigott, on 5 September 1811 at Uffington, Shropshire, England.1,2 He died on 2 August 1850 at age 81.2
     He lived at Weetwood Hall, Chatton, Northumberland, England.3
