     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was commissioned in October 1914 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, in the service of the 28 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1916.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.¹

     Goddard Richards was born circa 1721.¹ He was the son of John Richards.¹ He married Anne Hewetson in August 1756.¹ He died on 1 July 1795 at Grange, Ireland.¹

     Anne Hewetson married Goddard Richards, son of John Richards, in August 1756.¹ She died in January 1814.¹

     Eliza Groome was born in 1775.¹ She married Solomon Richards, son of Goddard Richards and Anne Hewetson, in November 1792 at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, Ireland.¹ She died on 2 March 1846.¹

     Bernard John Goddard Richards was born in 1857.¹ He was the son of Solomon Augustus Richards and Sophia Mordaunt Ward.¹ He died in 1879.¹

     Arthur William Morduant Richards was born on 6 February 1860.¹ He was the son of Solomon Augustus Richards and Sophia Mordaunt Ward.¹ He married Elizabeth Kirk on 8 September 1886 at St. James, Piccadilly, London, England.¹ He died on 9 June 1931 at age 71 at Naider Hall, Newbury, Berkshire, England.¹

     Elizabeth Kirk married Arthur William Morduant Richards, son of Solomon Augustus Richards and Sophia Mordaunt Ward, on 8 September 1886 at St. James, Piccadilly, London, England.¹
     From 8 September 1886, her married name became Richards.¹

     Francis Augustus Richards was born on 9 August 1873 at London, England.¹ He was the son of Solomon Augustus Richards and Sophia Mordaunt Ward.¹ He married Euphrosyne Muriel Whitaker on 7 July 1908 at Holy Trinity, Sloane Street, London, England.¹ He died on 8 January 1955 at age 81 at Kensington, London, England.¹
     He was an architect.¹

     Euphrosyne Muriel Whitaker married Francis Augustus Richards, son of Solomon Augustus Richards and Sophia Mordaunt Ward, on 7 July 1908 at Holy Trinity, Sloane Street, London, England.¹
