     Henry David Furness was born on 24 June 1830 at Ponteland.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Robson Furness and Mary Monteith.¹ He married Mary Pattison in 1862 at Riga, Latvia.¹ He died on 2 November 1880 at age 50 at Marseilles, France.¹
     He was educated at Collegiate School, Leicester, Leicstershire, England.¹ He was an apprentice with Robert Stephenson and Company in July 1847 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.¹ He was chief engineer with the Steam Navigation Company of the Two Sicilies in September 1853.¹ He gained the rank of Engineer in 1854 in the Turkish Navy, during the Crimean War.¹ He was a sub-manager with Robert Stephenson and Company.¹ He was a locomotive superintendent on the Riga-Dunaburg Railway.¹ He was the locomotive superintendent on the Orel-Witepsk Railway between 1869 and 1870.¹

     Mary Pattison married Henry David Furness, son of Reverend John Robson Furness and Mary Monteith, in 1862 at Riga, Latvia.¹
     From 1862, her married name became Furness.¹

     Matthew William Furness was born on 17 September 1833 at Ponteland.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Robson Furness and Mary Monteith.¹ He died in 1897 at Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England, unmarried.¹

     John Weallens married Mary Furness, daughter of Reverend John Furness and Mary Robson, in 1821.¹ He died in 1828.¹

     William Hutchinson married Mary Furness, daughter of Reverend John Furness and Mary Robson, on 19 December 1839 at Dinnington, County Durham, England.¹ He died in 1853.¹
     He was a partner in Robert Stephenson Company at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.¹

     Harriet Hennings was the daughter of Richard Hennings. She married Reverend Nathaniel Constantine Strickland, son of Sir William Strickland, 6th Bt. and Henrietta Cholmley, on 28 March 1854.¹ She died on 21 December 1877.¹
     From 28 March 1854, her married name became Strickland.

     Francis William Montgomery married Frances Catherine Alexander, daughter of Edward Nelson Alexander and Harriet Legard, in 1859 at Halifax, Yorkshire, England.¹ He died in 1870 at Brixworth, Northamptonshire, England.¹

     Amy Frances Jane Montgomery was born in 1860 at Northamptonshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Francis William Montgomery and Frances Catherine Alexander.¹

     Florence Montgomery was born in 1862 at Leicestershire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Francis William Montgomery and Frances Catherine Alexander.¹

     Charlotte Matilda Alexander was baptised on 1 September 1827 at Ganton, Yorkshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Nelson Alexander and Harriet Legard.¹
