Sir Francis Patrick Fletcher-Vane, 5th Bt.1 
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Scots Guards.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Royal LAncaster regiment.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Vane-Fletcher, of Hutton in the Forest, co. Cumberland [G.B., 1786] on 15 June 1908.2 He was president of teh British Boy Scouts.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 9th Service Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Bloemfontein [South Africa].2 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.3
