     Mary Elisabeth Lander Johnston was the daughter of Ernest Johnston.2 She married, firstly, Captain David Urling Clark before 1948.2 She married, secondly, Sir James Herbert Ingham Whitaker, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Albert Charles Whitaker, 2nd Bt. and Pamela Lucy Mary Snowden, on 26 July 1948.1 She died on 25 December 1998.1
     From before 1948, her married name became Clark.2 From 26 July 1948, her married name became Whitaker.
