William Welby1

     William Welby was the son of William Welby and Judith Newton.2 He married Ellinor Williams, daughter of William Williams.1 He died in 1657.1
     He purchased the Manor of Denton in 1648 from Sir William Thorold, 1st Bt.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lincolnshire in 1654, but was forbidden by Cromwell to take his seat.1
