     Edmund Hoyle Vestey was born on 19 June 1932.¹ He was the son of Ronald Arthur Vestey and Florence Ellen McLean Luis.² He married Anne Moubray Scoones, daughter of General Sir Geoffry Allen Percival Scoones, on 21 April 1960.¹ He died on 23 November 2007 at age 75.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1951 in the Queen’s Bays.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the City of London Yeomanry.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex in 1977.¹ He was chairman of Associated Container Transportation (Australia) between 1979 and 1982.¹ He was President of General Council of British Shipping

between 1981 and 1982.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Chartered Institute of Transport (F.C.I.T) in 1982.¹ He was chairman of Associated Container Transportation (Australia) between 1985 and 1988.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Suffolk in 1991.¹ He was President of General Council of British Shipping between 1992 and 1994.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)¹ He lived in 2003 at Little Thurlow Hall, Haverhill, Suffolk, England.¹
