     Matilda Clara Beatrice Byng was the daughter of Reverend John Byng and Williamina Hebe Morice.2 She married Colonel Arthur Henry Wavell, son of Maj.-Gen. Arthur Goodall Wavell and Anne Paxton, on 14 January 1880.3 She died on 19 June 1918.1
     From 14 January 1880, her married name became Wavell.
