     Air Vice-Marshal Henry Karslake Thorold was born on 11 May 1896.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Leofric de Buckenhold Thorold and Jane Preston Karslake.² He died on 10 April 1966 at age 69, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1915 in the Royal Naval Air Service.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1916.¹ He was awarded the Air Force Cross (A.F.C.) in 1918.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in 1921.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1942.¹ He was AOC of the 92 Group 2 between 1943 and 1945.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1945.¹ He was SASO of the Flying Training Command between 1946 and 1947.¹ He retired from the military in 1947, with the rank of Air Vice-Marshal.¹

     George Preston Thorold was born on 11 May 1896.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Leofric de Buckenhold Thorold and Jane Preston Karslake.² He married Madeleine Beatrice de Carteret, daughter of Aubrey Carteret de Carteret, on 6 July 1940.¹ He died on 27 December 1963 at age 67.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Marines.¹ He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)¹ He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1926 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (B.M.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)¹

     Aubrey Carteret de Carteret lived at Jersey, Channel Islands.¹

     Madeleine Beatrice de Carteret was the daughter of Aubrey Carteret de Carteret.² She married George Preston Thorold, son of Reverend John Leofric de Buckenhold Thorold and Jane Preston Karslake, on 6 July 1940.¹ She died in 1988.¹
     From 6 July 1940, her married name became Thorold.

     Julian Rodney Hartnoll is the son of James Rodney Blackett Hartnoll.¹ He married Laelia Karslake Thorold, daughter of George Preston Thorold and Madeleine Beatrice de Carteret, on 26 September 1964.¹

     Laelia Karslake Thorold was born on 21 April 1942.¹ She is the daughter of George Preston Thorold and Madeleine Beatrice de Carteret.² She married Julian Rodney Hartnoll, son of James Rodney Blackett Hartnoll, on 26 September 1964.¹
     From 26 September 1964, her married name became Hartnoll.
