     Edward Leofric Thorold was born on 9 June 1898.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Leofric de Buckenhold Thorold and Jane Preston Karslake.² He married, firstly, Phyllis Frances Hills, daughter of Albert Charles Hills, on 27 April 1928.¹ He and Phyllis Frances Hills were divorced in 1942.¹ He married, secondly, Agnes Phyllis Johnson, daughter of Albert Humphrey Johnson, on 20 June 1942.¹ He died on 16 September 1965 at age 67.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery.¹ He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Albert Charles Hills lived at Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, England, Biggleswade.¹

     Phyllis Frances Hills is the daughter of Albert Charles Hills.² She married Edward Leofric Thorold, son of Reverend John Leofric de Buckenhold Thorold and Jane Preston Karslake, on 27 April 1928.¹ She and Edward Leofric Thorold were divorced in 1942.¹
     From 27 April 1928, her married name became Thorold.
