     Reverend Mary Nerissa Anna Lister usually went by her middle name of Nerissa.³ From 20 July 1960, her married name became Jones.³ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 2002.³

     Mary Robertson was born on 3 September 1697 at Wemyss, Fife, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of William Robertson and Margaret Mitchell.¹ She married William Adam of Blair Adam, son of John Adam and Helen Cranstoun, on 30 May 1716.¹ She died in 1761.¹
     From 30 May 1716, her married name became Adam.¹
