Sir Robert Strange of Balcaskie1

     Sir Robert Strange of Balcaskie was born on 14 July 1721 at Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of David Strang and Jean Scollay.3,1 He married Isabella Lumisden, daughter of William Lumisden of Cushnie, in 1747 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 He died on 5 July 1792 at age 70 at 52 Great Queen Street, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, England.2
     He was also known as Robert Montague Strange. He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 20 December 1791.1

     Isabella Lumisden was born on 17 October 1719.2 She was the daughter of William Lumisden of Cushnie.3 She married Sir Robert Strange of Balcaskie, son of David Strang and Jean Scollay, in 1747 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 She died on 28 February 1806 at age 86 at East Acton, London, England.2
     From 1747, her married name became Strange.

James Charles Edward Stuart Strange1

     James Charles Edward Stuart Strange was born in 1754.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Strange of Balcaskie and Isabella Lumisden.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Durham, daughter of Thomas Durham, 5th of Largo and Polton and Ann Calderwood, on 12 February 1785 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3 He married, secondly, Hon. Anne Dundas, daughter of Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville of Melville and Elizabeth Rannie, on 18 December 1798 at Balcaskie, Fife, Scotland.2 He died on 6 October 1840.1
     He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 25 August 1798.1
