     William Hamilton of Airdrie was born on 6 March 1681.¹ He was the son of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Elizabeth Cochrane.² He married Margaret Bogle, daughter of John Bogle of Sandyhills, before 1714.¹ He died on 25 May 1749 at age 68.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hamilton, of Preston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1673], de jure.¹ He did not use his title.¹ He was Minister in 1709 at Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹

     Margaret Bogle was the daughter of John Bogle of Sandyhills.¹ She married William Hamilton of Airdrie, son of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Elizabeth Cochrane, before 1714.¹ She died on 2 April 1773.¹
     From before 1714, her married name became Hamilton.

     Robert Hamilton of Airdrie was born in 1714.¹ He was the son of William Hamilton of Airdrie and Margaret Bogle.² He married Mary Baird, daughter of John Baird of Craigton, before 1748.¹ He died in 1756.¹
     He sold Airdrie with the other remaining family property when his business ventures failed.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Hamilton, of Preston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1673] on 25 May 1749, de jure.¹

     Mary Baird is the daughter of John Baird of Craigton.² She married Robert Hamilton of Airdrie, son of William Hamilton of Airdrie and Margaret Bogle, before 1748.¹
     From before 1748, her married name became Hamilton.

     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Hamilton, of Preston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1673] in 1756, de jure.¹

     Robert Hamilton was born in 1754.¹ He was the son of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Mary Baird.² He died on 8 June 1799 at St. Helena, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Hamilton, of Preston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1673] in 1778, de jure.¹

     Grizel Hamilton is the daughter of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Mary Baird.² She married John Arnot.¹
     Her married name became Arnot.

     John Arnot married Grizel Hamilton, daughter of Robert Hamilton of Airdrie and Mary Baird.¹
