     He fought in the Battle of Homildon Hill on 14 September 1402.1

James Hamilton1

     James Hamilton was the son of Robert Hamilton of Fingalton and Preston and Katherine Tweedie.2 He died on 30 April 1523 at High Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, killed in an encouter between feuding adherents of the Earls of Arran and Angus, without issue.1

     Sir David Hamilton of Fingalton and Preston is the son of Robert Hamilton of Fingalton and Preston and Katherine Tweedie.2 He married Janet Baillie, daughter of Sir William Baillie of Lamington.1
     He was an early Protestant but fought for Mary, Queen of Scots.1 He fought in the Battle of Langside in 1568.1
