Alexander ‘Ciar’ Mackintosh of Rothiemurcus1 
He was forced to leave Rothiemurchus by attack from the Comyns, going to friends in Strathardle in Perthshire.1 He held the position of 5th Chief of the Clan Shaw from in 1411.1 In 1424 He later returned and recovered his inheritance by slaying the Comyns near Loch Pityoulish at a place called Lag-na-Cuminich.1 In 1424 at a spot called Lag-na-Cuminich.1 On 4 September 1469 he acquired feu of Rothiemurchus from Duncan, 12th of Clan Chattan, confirmed by Bishop Moray.1

He held the position of 7th Chief of the Clan Shaw from.1 He sold lands of Rothiemurchus on 26 November 1539 to George Gordon, 5th Earl of Huntly.1 In virtue of his sale of the Rothiemurchus clan lands, the leadership of Clan Shaw devolved on the Tordarroch line.1
