Admiral of the Fleet Sir Arthur Dalrymple Fanshawe was born on 2 April 1847.3 He was the son of Admiral Sir Edward Gennys Fanshawe and Jane Cardwell. He married Sarah Frances Fox, daughter of William Fox and Susan Cordelia Fanshawe, on 21 January 1874 at Church of the Ascension, Burghclere, Hampshire, England.4 He died on 21 January 1936 at age 88.3
