     He was educated at Cranbrook School, Cranbrook, Kent, England.¹ He was President of the Society of Motor Manufacturers between 1945 and 1946.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1946.¹ He was President of the Motor Industry Research Associaiton between 1952 and 1956.¹ He was chairman of Rootes Motors between 1956 and 1967.¹

     Ruth Joyce Bensted is the daughter of Harding Bensted.² She married Sir Reginald Claud Rootes, son of William Rootes and Jennie Catt, on 8 February 1922.¹ She and Sir Reginald Claud Rootes were divorced in 1938.¹
     From 8 February 1922, her married name became Rootes.¹

     Timothy David Rootes was born on 26 May 1925.¹ He is the son of Sir Reginald Claud Rootes and Ruth Joyce Bensted.²
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1944 and 1947 in the 6th Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment.¹ He was managing director of GDR Holdings.¹ He lived in 2003 at The Barn House, Alkerton, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Horace Press lived at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.¹

     Nora Press was the daughter of Horace Press.² She married William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes, son of William Rootes and Jennie Catt, on 15 March 1916.¹ She and William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes were divorced in 1951.¹ She died on 19 September 1964.¹
     From 15 March 1916, her married name became Rootes. After her marriage, Nora Press was styled as Baroness Rootes on 16 February 1959.

     William Geoffrey Rootes, 2nd Baron Rootes was born on 14 June 1917.² He was the son of William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes and Nora Press.² He married Marian Haytor, daughter of Lt.-Col. Herbert Roche Haytor, on 15 August 1946.² He died on 16 January 1992 at age 74 at Newbury, Berkshire, England.^2,3
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the Royal Army Service Corps.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Rootes, of Ramsbury, co. Wilts [U.K.,1959] on 12 December 1964.² He was chairman of Rootes Motors, Chrysler UK between 1967 and 1973.²

     Hon. Brian Gordon Rootes was born on 1 October 1919.¹ He was the son of William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes and Nora Press.² He married Elizabeth Margaret Barclay, daughter of Reverend Humphrey Gordon Barclay and Beatrice Evermar Bond-Cabbell, on 5 February 1944.¹ He died on 1 January 1971 at age 51.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the 12th Royal Lancers.¹ He was chairman Prestair Ltd and Dallick Ltd, Rootes Ltd, Rootes Motors Overseas Ltd.¹ He was director of Rootes Motors Ltd in 1967.¹

     Hugh David Carr Hordern married Ruth Lea Allnut, daughter of Herbert L. Allnut and Lucy Manfield Cobham, in 1945 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.¹ He died on 28 September 2008 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.¹

     Elizabeth Margaret Barclay was born in 1916 at Erpingham, Norfolk, England.² She is the daughter of Reverend Humphrey Gordon Barclay and Beatrice Evermar Bond-Cabbell.³ She married, firstly, Norman Lewis Philips, son of Brig.-Gen. Lewis Francis Philips and Margaret Aline Moreton Macdonald, in 1939.^1,4 She married, secondly, Hon. Brian Gordon Rootes, son of William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes and Nora Press, on 5 February 1944.¹
     From 1939, her married name became Philips. From 5 February 1944, her married name became Rootes. She lived in 2003 at The Old Farmhouse, Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England.¹
