     Maj.-Gen. James Whistler was born circa 1808.2 He married Fanny Virginia Evelina Chamier, daughter of Henry Chamier and Anne Antoinette Evelina Thursby, on 3 June 1847 at The Cathedral, Madras, India.2 He died in 1878 at Great Pulteney Street, Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

     Colonel Albert Edward Whistler was born in 1857 at Bellary, Madras, India.2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. James Whistler and Fanny Virginia Evelina Chamier.3,2 He married Florence Annie Gordon Rivett-Carnac, daughter of Charles Forbes Rivett-Carnac and Isabel Stannus Gordon, on 3 October 1893 at Mussoorie, Bengal, India.1,2 He died in 1940 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England.2
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1
