     James Rivett-Carnac was baptised on 10 March 1759.1 He was the son of Thomas Rivett and Anna Maria Sibley.2 He married Henrietta Fisher, daughter of James Fisher.1 He died on 16 July 1802 at age 43.1
     He was also known as James Rivett.1 He was member of the Bombay Government Council.1 He was chairman of the Honourable East India Company.1 In 1801 his name was legally changed to James Rivett-Carnac by royal licence under terms of will of his brother-in-law General John Carnac.1

     Sir James Rivett-Carnac, 1st Bt. was born on 11 November 1784.1 He was the son of James Rivett-Carnac and Henrietta Fisher.2 He married Anna Maria Richardes, daughter of William Richardes, on 3 June 1815.1 He died on 28 January 1846 at age 61.1
     He was chairman of the Honourable East India Company.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sandwich.1 He was created 1st Baronet Rivett-Carnac, of Derby and Warborne, Hampshire [U.K.] on 12 March 1836.1 He held the office of Governor of Bombay between 1838 and 1841.1

     John Henry Rivett-Carnac was born on 16 September 1838 at Marylebone, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Admiral John Edward Rivett-Carnac and Maria Jane Davis.3 He married Annie Marion Durand, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Marion Durand and Annie McCaskill, on 28 December 1868.1 He died on 11 May 1923 at age 84.1
     He was with the Indian Civil Service between 1858 and 1894.1 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1878.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Ghazipur Light Horse and Rifle Volunteers.1 He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of the Lion and Sun of Persia.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Astronomical Society (F.R.A.S.)1 He was awarded the Knight Grand Cross, North Star of Sweden.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria in 1891.1
