William John Rivett-Carnac was born on 19 April 1822.1 He was the son of Sir James Rivett-Carnac, 1st Bt. and Anna Maria Richardes.2 He married Mary Anstruther Wilkinson, daughter of Reverend Percival Spearman Wilkinson, in September 1846.1 He died on 9 July 1874 at age 52.1
