Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 3rd Bt.1

     Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Jane Rigg.2 He married, firstly, Agnes Scott, daughter of Gideon Scott of Harden and Margaret Hamilton, on 1 December 1659.1,3 He married, secondly, Helen Morison, daughter of Sir Alexander Morison and Jean Boyd, in November 1661.1,3 He married, thirdly, Margaret Swinton, daughter of Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk and Lady Margaret Stewart, in October 1669.1,3 He died on 1 April 1700 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] circa 1669.2 In 1687 he got a remission for treason from King James II.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire [Scotland] between 1690 and 1700.3

     Agnes Scott was the daughter of Gideon Scott of Harden and Margaret Hamilton.2,3 She married Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Jane Rigg, on 1 December 1659.1,3 She died between 1659 and 1661, without issue.1
     From 1 December 1659, her married name became Riddell.

     Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 4th Bt. was born in 1664.2 He was the son of Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 3rd Bt. and Helen Morison.3 He married Mary Watt, daughter of John Watt, on 18 April 1692.1 He died on 27 April 1747.4
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] on 1 April 1700.1

     Margaret Swinton was the daughter of Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk and Lady Margaret Stewart.2 She married Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Jane Rigg, in October 1669.1,3 She died on 4 March 1699 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3 She was buried on 6 March 1699 at Grey Friars Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3
     From October 1669, her married name became Riddell.
