     Anthony Moseley was born circa 1537.¹ He was the son of Edward Moseley and Margaret Elcock.² He married Alice Webster, daughter of Richard Webster.¹ He died on 25 March 1607.¹
     He purchased Ancoats from John Byron, 1st Baron Byron of Rochdale.¹ He had four younger sons and a daughter.¹
